A week of firsts

This past week Poppy started Montessori and ballet, and Soren started Kindergarten! All of the first days went well, and while I expect Poppy will have a few tears at the morning drop-offs, I'm optimistic that everything is going to go well. It was kind of a strange week - half days and meet-the-teachers and such, so tomorrow marks our first "real" week back into the swing of things. Normally I would feel a little more anxious about it, but since I've started working four-day work weeks, mondays are a lot less intimidating. I've got the 'we can do it' mentality for three days, and then just when things start to fall apart... out of groceries, kids overtired, house a mess... I've got a day to catch up. Thursdays at home are proving to be great, and I'm looking forward to special outings that the kids and I can do each week.

I think I'm going to start sharing some meal plans - mostly to keep me accountable! It helps our house SO MUCH to have a meal plan... but for some reason I don't always get around to making one. In preparation of a busy week, today I made two batches of muffins (perfect for lunches or rushed breakfasts), a big pot of Glowing Spiced Lentil Soup, and cleaned out our pantry so it's easier to see what we need, and pack lunches. To all the 'back-to-school' households out there... Good Luck!
