Our good friends invited us over for a gingerbread making party, and the kids couldn't have been happier. From the decor to the candy to the older kids to follow around - they loved it! Even hand-washing was a hit... maybe it's more fun at other peoples houses:)
The weather has turned colder in the days following christmas, and we've taken the opportunity to cozy up inside. I actually bought a book today, the first one I've purchased in ages, and read for a few hours during nap time. Soren has been busy with his new playmobil castle, and Poppy is just busy. That one is something else... She had quite the meltdown at breakfast today, in front of a large group of people, of course. She likes to do things by herself, but also with me. If I'm in the kitchen I will inevitably hear 'help you mama!', as she runs to push a chair up to the counter. It's cute and sweet and sometimes a little too much - all at the same time. I know I will miss the days of her "helping" me, so I try to enjoy it as much as possible, even if it means things get a little messier than I would like. She's great at helping with laundry! And unloading the dishwasher, I don't mind the help on that one.
