A few weeks back I read that the secret to 'hotel sheets' is to iron them. I definitely love hotel sheets, so I thought I would test this theory. Unfortunately, I only have a mini ironing board - the kind that you place on the floor or on a table. Ironing anything larger than a t-shirt is difficult… so queen sized sheets posed quite the problem. Nevertheless I tried my best, and slowly ironed a few square feet at a time.
After making the bed (I didn't iron the pillow cases… maybe I should have?) I couldn't wait to jump into it later that evening. And the verdict? It felt ok. Better than ok, I suppose. I am one of those people who washes the sheets every few days, as I just love the feeling of freshly washed sheets. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say ironed sheets upped the 'freshly washed' feeling by about 1 point. A little better than just washing them, but not 'hotel quality'. Maybe I'll try it again one day, but to be honest it felt kind of like a make work project. And I have plenty of other 'must work' projects to do before I tackle optional projects!
