The handy husband

6/05/2013

My husband is a self-proclaimed non handyman. He doesn't have a garage full of tools - we don't even have a garage, or even a shed for that matter. He does have a little tool kit with some screws and nails and things, but it's mostly to hang up pictures for me, or tighten a cupboard hinge if it gets loose.

What he is is a very good researcher. He plans projects to extreme accuracy, spending weeks or months researching what he wants to do, how to best do it, and then putting his plans into action. So when he announced he was building a deck I wasn't too worried, even though this was definitely something he had never done before. Deck books filled our dining room table, and our PVR was quickly overrun with 'Deck Crashers' episodes. His hard work and attention to detail paid off, and I can't wait to fill our new deck with plants, comfortable seating, and cozy lights.

Gotta sneak in a picture of my preggo belly!

A little helper. He wishes he could do everything!
 Getting there!

And the beautiful finished product!

LOVE IT!!! Great job!!!

When the vines start crawling up the pegola it's going to look unreal!

Funny how guys constantly need projects. There's something about hammering in a nail that gives them this satisfaction! lol

Enjoy your backyard!!!
