Sunday Morning Skate

1/28/2013

On Sunday morning we laced up our skates and hit up the river trail at The Forks. We had such a great time - it was SO nice to get some fresh air and actually feel like I am living in the world, rather than scurrying back and forth from my house to the car to work... like some sort of mole.

The skies were a beautiful shade of grey, and there was lots going on, even at the early hour of 10am. We visited a couple of the world-renouned architectural huts, and imagined what it would be like to live in a fluorescent yellow cabin. We peeked into Raw on Ice and are kicking ourselves for not buying tickets earlier. How cool is a pop-up restaurant on the ice, in a tent, with food prepared by some of the best chefs in the city? Only 20 diners can eat at a time, at a long family-style table. Next year, for sure!

I am hoping the weather remains bearable next weekend, because I'd love to go back and skate a bit further down the trail. I had a really hard time selecting photos for this post because they were all SO GOOD (thank you darling husband). You may see some similar ones pop up later in the week.
