Mama Style

A couple days ago I was excited to see some of my favourite bloggers were hosting a 'mama style' linkup. It got me thinking about how my style has changed after having a baby. For the most part, I don't think it's changed that much. I usually opt for simple, classic pieces that can last for years, and then throw in some 'fun' accessories or trendier articles.

What has changed is my hair, and the amount I will spend on beauty products. I used to get my hair highlighted every couple months, but found with money a little tighter I just couldn't justify it anymore. So... ombre hair was born, au natural. (it helps that this look is in style right now) I've also switched from salon brands of shampoo to good old TreSeme.

One of my all time favourite pieces is a button down shirt I bought from Banana Republic a few years ago. I wear it with everything - from jeans, to leggings, to classic skirts and even as a bathing suit cover up! It's lasted extremely well, and I can usually avoid ironing if I hang it to dry. Button downs were great for nursing, and I often wear a scarf which can easily double as a nursing cover.

shirt from Banana Republic - old, skirt from local boutique, also old. Pony-tails are a must!

A little helper is wearing Ralph Lauren (similar) and cords from the girls side of Joe Fresh. Jeans below are from William Rast

Linking up with What I wore Wednesday and Random Wednesdays.

I love a good button down too. And I just love the look of them tucked in, but whenever I try it I feel like it doesn't look right on me. I'll have to keep on trying.

Love that green skirt!! I feel as though I've really lost any sense of style I used to have since becoming a Mum... I recently decided enough was enough and went through my wardrobe, throwing out maternity clothes, comfy house-mama clothes and clothes from my old working days which were dated or no longer 'me'... now I just need to re-stock my wardrobe :)
