Parties and Presents

12/11/2012

I can't believe it's December 11th!! I've barely started my Christmas shopping, my christmas baking has mostly been eaten, and we don't even have a tree up yet! Last year at this time I was on maternity leave, and my sweet little 6-month old was predictable enough that I could get a lot done during his naps. Oh... how I miss those days of maternity leave!

I often struggle to come up with cute, easy, and affordable hostess gifts. Wine is a go-to, of course, but sometimes it's a bit more personal to give something unique, or hand-made. I usually default to some sort of cookies, wrapped up in parchment paper and tied with bow, but on Sunday I made a big batch of granola and tossed some in a mason jar. I sprinkled in some mini-white chocolate chips and cranberries to give it a festive touch. Would you be happy with this hostess gift? Or would be polite and shove it in the back of your cupboard...never to be touched again? What are your go-to hostess gifts?

found you via Tango Tuesday :) I LOVE homemade gifts, I feel that the effort means so much more than the final product. That said, I think the homemade granola is a really nice idea! I would put that on my yogurt.

Oh I love this! I have a ton of left over mason jars from a recent project and have been looking for ideas for them :-)

Love it! I collect vintage Pyrex and I like to give people a cute little casserole or fridgie with candles or treats inside. I am always thrifting so I have extras around. Btw I really enjoy your blog!
