March, and very much still Winter!

In other parts of the world, tulips are popping up and people can go outside without coats on. In Winnipeg... not so much! However, it has been the 4th warmest winter on record, and we have had very little snow. That's why it was almost a pleasant surprise to get a big snowfall last Thursday. I had been hoping to get to do some winter activities, and it looks like I got my wish.

We headed off to The Forks today to walk along the frozen river path, and check out some of the very cool warming huts that are designed by world-class architects. It was chilly, but the sun was shining and we had a good time. I have a feeling it will be the last time we can go out on the river this winter, as warmer temperatures are predicted for later in the week.
